Biography
Ginger is an active member of the Crow Tribe in Montana. She is a licensed school, mental health and substance use counselor, specializing in culturally diverse populations, crisis intervention and trauma therapy. She provides culturally appropriate educational, therapeutic and public safety trainings to “Understand trauma and why we do the things we do.”
Ginger has served on the Billings Crisis Intervention Team, collaborating with the Yellowstone County Sheriff’s Office and Billings Police Department to understand cultural diversity and at risk populations dealing with mental health and substance use.. She was an integral part of creating co-responder programs including the Homeless Outreach Team and a Mobile Crisis Response Unit. Ginger has been active in diversion programs, such as the JAIL Based Pilot Project and Treatment Court Programs.
Ginger experienced a life of trauma, addiction and abuse. When life knocked her down, she understood her personal responsibility to her family and future generations, to heal from her past. By doing so, she was able to see the purpose in the pain she endured, which now helps her guide others as a dealer of hope. She is married, has two adult children and 7 grandchildren and enjoys spending time with her family.
Ginger is currently in private practice and provides counseling services to children, teens, adults, couples and families managing the symptoms and affects of trauma, substance abuse and mental health issues in order to lead fulfilling and peaceful lives.
