Biography
Dr. Damali Campbell-Oparaji is a board-certified physician in both Obstetrics & Gynecology and Addiction Medicine, dedicated to advancing women’s health in underserved communities, primarily in urban northern New Jersey, including leading initiatives to improve maternal health outcomes and co-leading a CAP grant-funded free cervical and breast cancer screening program for uninsured women. She served as Medical Director of the NJ Maternal Care Quality Collaborative from 2020 to 2024, a HRSA-funded initiative, and has been a member of the New Jersey Maternal Mortality Review Committee since 2008.
She also led NJ’s safety net medical center to become the first hospital in Essex County to achieve the Baby-Friendly Designation and currently serves on the board of the NJ Maternal Infant Health Innovation Authority.
