New Frontiers: Introducing Concierge Care for the Emergency Department

We are excited to announce that HackensackUMC at Pascack Valley, an affiliate of Hackensack Meridian Health, is the first hospital in the country to introduce GoMo Health’s award-winning Concierge Care® Inpatient Satisfaction solution for emergency room patients and their families. The program will be released this month as a part of the grand opening of their new Emergency Department.

What is Concierge Care?

GoMo Health’s Inpatient Satisfaction solution is a communications pathway that enables patients to direct requests for their non-clinical needs. Using a mobile device, patients can submit a request that gets sent quickly and efficiently to the departments that can help. This enhances the patient experience by reducing the amount of time needed to complete a request and makes their stay as comfortable as possible.

Introducing Concierge Care for the Emergency DepartmentSome of the services people can request in the Emergency Department release include:

  • While-you-wait complimentary reading materials from a news cart
  • Requests for clergy
  • Access to electronic medical records
  • Schedule an UBER transportation home following an inpatient stay

Concierge Care® is a cloud-based solution built with Microsoft .NET and is securely hosted on Azure.

Implementing Concierge Care® into a hospital setting provides several benefits:

A Proven Hospital-Wide Success

Introducing Concierge Care for the Emergency DepartmentThe decision to release the GoMo Health Concierge Care® Inpatient Satisfaction solution into the newly re-opened Emergency Department came as a direct result of the success of using the product hospital-wide.

The hospital-wide solution is similar to the Emergency Department version, with a couple of key differences. Requests are tailored instead to the patient who has been admitted to HackensackUMC at Pascack Valley for a longer stay.

Some of the requests available through the hospital-wide solution include:

  • Food service
  • Filling a prescription
  • Room temperature and amenities
  • Access to electronic medical records

Launched in November 2015, the nationally recognized solution has yielded HackensackUMC at Pascack Valley a Gold Award from the Healthcare Marketing Report’s 33rd Annual Healthcare Advertising Awards and a silver award from the Hospital Marketing Advertising Awards.
